Playground is as much important as the game played and the Players in the game!
Here are some of the opinions/views about the Playground (www.siv-g.org), the Game (the Online Essay Contest on the theme "Good Governance" and the Players (the College and School students - participants)

"The convenor of the event, G. Suresh, is a vigilance officer with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). He had launched a website www.siv-g.org, through which entries were invited. Of 123 entries, 27 had qualified for the contest, he said.
Former Central Vigilance Commissioner N. Vittal said the entries were ‘vibrant evidence of young India rooted in tradition.’
Former bureaucrat B.S. Raghavan said good governance was necessary within family and corporate structures as well. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Chairman V.R. Lakshmi Narayanan said all the prize-winning essays discussed a common theme — corruption and development cannot co-exist...."

"....The convener of the event, G Suresh, vigilance officer, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), said that he had launched the website to reach the youth. The number of participants in this competition had proved that the purpose had been achieved...."
B S Raghavan, former policy advisor to the UN, lauded the works of the Mylapore Academy, specially the services of its secretary C S Veeraraghavan in public domain.
Good governance was necessary from the family till the corporate. 'It should start with each one of us. Unless each is conscious of our need to be good in whatever we undertake, we cannot have good governance', he said.
He also lauded the matter, method, manner and means in which the competition had been conducted....."

“…let me first congratulate you for this wonderful initiative to spread the
message of fighting against corruption and demanding for the citizens
the most vital right of good governance. And my congratulations and
good wishes to all the young persons who participated and special
praise to those whose essays have been chosen for the prizes.
Corruption has been allowed to erode the gains of our developmental
efforts mainly because we as a nation have been passive and much too
tolerant of this malaise. We cannot and should not wait for a Mahatma
to come and fight for this. Each of us should raise our voice and the
resultant roar should frighten the evil forces of corruption. What you
have started is indeed a very valuable movement for, once the youth of
the country recognise corruption as a weed to be destroyed from our
midst and show themselves as determined to fight it and not be
passive, we can, indeed, hope for a good future for the country. I
hope you will keep up this effort and people like us will be more than
willing to do our bit to strengthen the movement……”
- Mr. P. Shankar, IAS(Retd), Former Central Vigilance Commissioner

“….I was looking for some research work, relevance to GG, originality such as real life examples in India showing the application or lack of it in everyday world in India. I was also looking for bibliography/acknowledgements/references. Some have made an attempt, but I guess the importance of this needs to be stressed more at schools. I did not hold this as my judging point. What made my head turn was the role of students as they see themselves in contributing towards GG.
Lot of students have written about Govts role in GG but not where family, individuals and students come into picture and their role in shaping the future. As outlined in the Lecture outlined by N Vittal in siv-g website, I would expect competitors to go through it before attempting this essay. Not many seem to have grasped it. So I did my best. May the best student win…...”

“……I definitely had fun participating, but in receiving the prize, I have to admit, I was disappointed. The entire show seemed amateurish, if you won't mind saying.
