Suresh is an anti-corruption expert, good governance practitioner and ISR(Individual Social Responsibility) promoter. He has been in the field of anti-corruption for the past 23 years. Read on...... to know little more about Suresh Govindarajan! Suresh is the Founder of SIV-G : Self Imposed Vigilance for good Governance which is now recognized as a movement. He launched a website www.siv-g.org and use it to organize online essay contests for students (both college and higher secondary school) on themes ‘Good Governance’ and ‘Integrity and good governance’ and be in touch with the youngsters. Last year SIV-G has launched a National Governance Corps (NGC) on the lines of NCC/NSS in schools. Suresh was selected for the 10th Commonwealth Study Conference held in March 2007 in India and Malaysia and was also selected as a Group Leader of 13 delegates from 9 different countries, which included a Parliamentarian, a Director of a Company, an Environmentalists, Union leaders, Journalists, Educationalists etc. He had the opportunity to meet Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam(when he was President of India), His Royal Highness, the Duke of Kent Admiral Edward George Nicholas Patrick Paul, Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, Mrs. Sheila Dixit, the Chief Minister of Delhi and many other dignitaries and shared his vision and mission of SIV-G. Suresh was invited by the University of Tenanga International (UNITEN), Malaysia to present his paper on SIV-G and his Law during the UNITEN International Business Management Conference (UNBMC 2007) in December 2007. He presented his paper and had an opportunity to discuss with Mr. Mohd Ali Rustam, Chief Minister of Melaka, Malaysia about his mission and vision. Suresh was one of the two delegates from India who attended the Inaugural Conference of the International Anti-Corruption Academy, Vienna, inaugurated by the Secretary General of the United Nations. Suresh was also Peer Reviewer for India for the Global Integrity Index 2007, published by the Washington based organization, Global Integrity. Suresh was gifted the Mahatma Gandhi Sahayogi Puraskar (of Gandhi Integrated Forum Trust) by His Excellency Governor of Tamil Nadu on 15th August 2007. Suresh was nominated for the Lakshmibai Singhania – Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow National Leadership Award – 2007 Suresh was also nominated for the Yale World Fellow 2008. Suresh was also nomiated for the Stanford University - Draper Hills Summer Fellowship 2010. |
